I did however feel at first Bella was a not a very compelling character to me at all. But I guess that is part of the secret of the success of this love story–she is just an ordinary girl who falls in love with a vampire. I love how the monster (the vampire) turns out to be the hero and his love for her overcomes his desire for her blood. It is an interesting start to an intriguing series.
