I’ve spent a lot of time over the past years deriding the concept of the Kindle. I’ve always said that I really prefer the feel of a book in my hand. But after cleaning boxes of paperbacks out of my office, I came to the realization that I normally read a paperback once … maybe twice … and then it becomes clutter. So, after much consideration, I decided to buy the Kindle to replace the piles of paperbacks.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. But I have to say I love this device. The cover I purchased to protect my new Kindle still gives me that ‘holding a book’ feeling, and it’s nice to finish a book and not wonder what I’m going to do with the paperback (I was taught that books are to be shared, not thrown away). The device is easy to use, and the E Ink technology is remarkably comfortable to the eye.

The ability to download a sample of a book I may be interested in is also very appealing. I have peeked around in books I probably wouldn’t have given a second look in a bookstore, comfortable in the knowledge that if I don’t like it I can remove it in a couple of clicks.

In short, I have gone from a Kindle opponent to a Kindle supporter in little over a week. There are still books that I will buy in hardcover and put on my bookshelf, but those books by favorite authors would have ended up on my bookshelf in hardcover anyway.

The reality is that I very well may have purchased my last paperback.

There are hundreds of reviews on this device, so it’s difficult to add much to the tons of opinions and info that have already been expressed. I purchased this watch to train for a marathon and it quickly became a core piece of our daily routines. Both my running partner and I relied upon it. Get a bit sidetracked on your run and need to figure out, on the fly, how to still get the distance you need? The watch has you covered. Feel like your run is a bit off? The watch will tell you how far off you are from other runs. Even after several months of training, I felt like I barely scratched the surface of what this watch had to offer. The only piece of the ’solution’ that was a bit disappointing was the mapping/planning software that came with the Forerunner. Luckily, it integrates with so many other available tools that it wasn’t that much of a downside. As a gadget enthusiast, I give the Forerunner my highest recommendation: If it broke today, I would be at the store (or Amazon!) tomorrow buying another one to replace it. There aren’t many electronic devices I have that I can say that about.

I have used at least 5 other pedometers and thought I’d try the HJ-112 since the reviews were positive and I’m glad I did. Works well in pocket or on hip. Accurate, not too bulky and very light weight. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a pedometer that you can trust.

This scale works perfectly. I am a pretty big person, 6-3, 190 lbs and I fit on the scale with room to spare. It measures to the .2 lb and is extremely accurate. Stepping on and off multiple times and weighing things in between it gives me the same weight every time. I drank a bunch of water and got on and it showed me that I was now .2 lb heavier. EatSmart also has great customer service. Scale Works great especially for the price.

I was so excited to get this scale after seeing HUNDREDS of positive reviews. I started a new weight loss plan, am eating healthy and am working out a lot more. However…I have no way to accurately track my weight because this scale doesn’t work! I read the instructions very carefully and I followed them (you have to do something specific every time you put in new battiers). However, every time I tap the scale to turn on…nothing happens. I have to lift up the scale with my hands and place it on the ground so the 000 will pop up. But then I have to quickly stand on it before the 000 goes away or else it will shut off and it won’t work. I will be returning it to Amazon this week in hopes of finding something that will actually work as it is supposed to. Very dissapointed.
